Day one of Lucketts is officially over, and I have just had my fill of sushi and am sipping wine as I type! It could not have been a more beautiful day, and it was truly a success! We only sold 6 dressers, and still have lots of those left, so Emily and I felt like we hadn’t done well. But when I got home and looked at my photos from when we had just set up, I saw that we had really sold most of it and done well! Thank you so much for all the well wishes! I am going to show you some images from our set up and then of course talk about the wonderful people I met and saw!!!
So here are Emily and I, ready to conquer the world!
And some shots of our space…
Andi made some gorgeous rings and bobby pins out of vintage pieces…. I was sporting a bobby pin for the earlier part of the day…. so sparkly and pretty! I sold a pair of pearly white bobby pins to a woman whose daughter was getting married next Spring… How sweet! What doesn’t sell tomorrow will soon be available in Andi’s shop, so keep an eye out for that!
Now onto some of the friends of the day! Sandwiched between Emily and me is Christine. Her mom was selling at the booth next to us; both Christine and her mother are so sweet! Christine is a reader of mine, and had emailed about the teal desk she had seen. She was going to get it before Lucketts, but tragically her family lost its dog the same week. I was thrilled to see it go home with her today, as I know it is going to a womderful family. Christine was there til 11 am, and her mom and I chatted much longer after that. Her mother spoke very highly of the kind of woman and kind of mother her daughter was. Her mother truly respects Christine, and how beautifull connected her family is. Christine, are you reading this? Hope I am not embarassing you, but your mom is so proud of you!
Kelli from Restore Interiors has to be one of the nicest and warmes people ever! She has big brown engaging eyes that show the true kindness of her spirit. She came over and gave me what my kids call a “big squeezy hug”, and I think I could have just hugged her all day! She was so wonderful! If you haven’t been by her blog, you need to visit! She is currently running all sorts of auctioned items to raise money to restore Alabama after all the tragic tornadoes. What did I tell you… kindness of spirit.
Sharon of Elizabeth & Co came by for a visit! I told Emily that I think Sharon is just the kind of gal you want as a friend. She has such a kind heart, is down to earth, and always has an encouraging word and a smile. Not to mention she is one very creative and talented lady! Sharon also brought me a bag of goodies, which was sooo appreciated and so sweet!
She made me a green burlap table runner…. It’s perfect on our table, Sharon!!!! I love it!
And she couldn’t help herself when se saw this wall pocket! She told me it was me and my kiddos. I see some spray paint in this guy’s future. Isn’t it so cute!
And she didn’t stop there! She KNEW I would need some of this after the weekend… And this is not yo’ mama’s wine. This bottle came from the winery where her daughter was married! Isn’t that awesome! It is chilling now in my fridge. ๐

I also had the privelege of meeting Barb of Knack Studios. She wouldn’t let me take her picture even though she is the cutest little lady ever! I will openly admit that before I knew she had a blog, I stalked her etsy shop for inspiration. Now we have been bloggy friends for some time, and I love her even more now that I know her. She oozes style and class, with a touch of fun, and her furniture reflects that. She and her pal Lily drove from South Carolina to come up here! I am so appreciative, and I have to admit, it was like meeting my hero. I tried to play it really cool though. : )
Katelyn also stopped by as she was there shopping today! Her blog, The Eclectic Traditionalist, is just what it says it is… eclectic! You will find a little bit of everything! Katelyn is one of the sweetest clients we have! And we both share a love of Louisiana. ๐
Later in the day visited a bit with Miss Mustard Seed when I finally went to grab lunch at 3 pm, as she was near the food. Her booth was pretty sparse by the time I saw it. And I was definitely too late for a cupcake. Bummer. Marian, if you are reading this, remember your sunblock tomorrow!
I also get to hang out with my pal Pam for a bit! She sells beautiful and colorful vintage furniture as well and did a wondeful job today! She also brought me a treasure she found on the ground (meaning no one wanted it!) at the auction. How could no one want this guy? He is even a bank, too!
We are looking forward to another fabulous day tomorrow! Hope to see you there!
And I want to say it was also great to meet Deb & Sheila, and see Catherine, Emily, and I apologize if I am forgetting anyone! Long Day! ๐
